Android new OS Pistachio Ice cream or P9

In summer 2018 and most probably in the month of May Google is coming up with its newer version of its android operating system Android P9. The work on this operating system was going from last year after the launch of Android Oreo 8. Till now the Google was branding this Operating System as P9 but as per the media reports suggests that final decision has been taken about the actual name of the operating system as Pistachio Ice cream. There was buzz on Social Media about the name of Operating system P9 about its final name and people were guessing the name as Android Pineapple, Android Point and Android Pie and many more.

This will be the Thirteenth version of Android Operating system which as per the Google policy to name its operating systems to sweet treats is also named after the sweet treats i.e. Pistachio Ice Cream. The earlier version named after sweet treats are Google Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Ginger bread, Honeycomb, Ice cream sandwich, Jellybean, Kitkat, Lollipop, Marsh Mallow, Nougat and Oreo Operating system.
With launch of Pistachio 9.0 operating system Google is planning to take head on to Apples I-Phone X in the market.

Although the Android 9.0 will be released probably in May 2018, it would be immediately available to all Android devices. Google Pixel devices will be the first to get the updates and then the phones with this operating system will arrive in the market sometime later after the first half of year 2018. Nokia with Vanilla interfaces will be the first to come up with the updates of the operating system 9.0 and then Samsung, Sony, LG and HTC will be rolling out this system in late 2018 or early 2019.
